Part -Time Retail Manager

Are you seeking a part-time retail management position? Do you want a job that makes a difference? Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue is hiring!

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service

Correspond with online customers via e – mail, telephone, or other forms of messaging to address questions or complaints about products, policies, or shipping methods on a daily basis.

Re-route calls to appropriate departments, such as membership, donations, adoption.

Maintain stock and presentable condition in warehouse area

Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options

Process POS (point of sale) purchases for mail -in and phone orders

Handle returns of merchandise

Comply with inventory control procedures

Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store’s design)

Compose descriptions of merchandise for posting to online storefront,

Ability to cross post and promote merchandise on social media

Compose images of products, using cameras, lighting equipment, props, or photo or video editing software.

Fill customer orders by packaging sold items and documentation for direct shipping or by transferring orders to manufacturers or third-party distributors.

Create or maintain database of customer accounts.

Create, manage, or automate orders or invoices, using order management or invoicing software.

Monitor sale of products, suggest price changes as needed. Determine and set product prices.

Maintain inventory of shipping supplies, such as boxes, labels, tape, bubble wrap, loose packing materials, or tape guns.

Part -Time Bookkeeper

Are you looking for a meaningful part-time job with flexible hours? Do you love dogs? Do you want to make a difference?

Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue is seeking a part-time experienced bookkeeper, 20-30 hours per week.

Your primary duties would include recording all transactions, reconciling accounts, and creating financial reports to share with members of management. As the sole member of the accounting department, you might be asked to complete other financial tasks as they occur. We are looking for someone who will be involved in and make recommendations for updating and streamlining our current accounting processes.

Job Responsibilities

Record day-to-day monetary transactions, including purchases and incoming payments, and payments

Identify areas of overspending

Keep accurate financial records and ledgers

Balance books and double-check accounts for errors

Complete tax forms and assist in the tax preparation

Process accounts receivable and payable

Issue financial statements, including bills and receipts

Maintain a cordial relationship with donors and members

Manage payroll

Maintain a petty cash drawer

Create quarterly financial reports and submit them to the management

Job Requirements

At least 1 year of bookkeeping experience

BS or higher in finance, accounting or a related field a plus

Excellent math and technology skills

Experience with Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks, Woo Commerce, Access, PayPal

Good written and verbal communication skills

Good attention to detail

Willingness to work in a small office environment and the ability to complete all tasks with little direct oversight

Part – Time Adoption Specialist

The Adoption Specialist is responsible for client service and the adoption of animals at Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue in Hudson, MA. Job responsibilities including but not limited to: adoption placement and facilitating adoptions, creating a positive experience for clients, ensuring quality customer service, ensuring timely and accurate record keeping, providing foster parent and adoption support, training of volunteers in all aspects of the adoption department, assisting in various volunteer programs, animal care, transport, and promoting animals and the adoption program to the public.

Essential and Primary Duties/Responsibilities include:

Facilitating the complete adoption process according to YGRR standards and philosophy to include: checklists, agreements, dog meets, dog intros, screenings, medical records, written correspondence, email, and phone calls.

Answering of client inquiries through the adoption team primarily including but not limited to: answering the phone and basic questions from the public and appropriately directing calls to other team members when relevant, checking voice mail messages and overseeing call backs and information is delivered to appropriate staff as well as respond to general email inquiries.

Assisting with in-house adoption promotions and events as needed.

Transporting to and from shelter locations and veterinary offices. Occasionally transport out of state is required.

Providing high quality customer service to people who visit or call YGRR as well as resolving problems and addressing any client dissatisfaction.

Adhering to and being acquainted with written policies, procedures, protocols, forms and training materials for adoptions, client service (Obtain approvals as needed.)

Keeping animal records current with information which will help place animals into suitable homes including entering past and current medical examinations, observations and behavior notes as needed.

Utilizing shelter management software to effectively and efficiently track animals coming to and going from the shelter and updating files as required including tracking adoptions when an animal is adopted.

Maintaining an inventory of all adoption supplies including but not limited to: retail items, adoption tags, paper, pens, checklists, one-sheets and adoption packets, as well as filing and tracking of checklists and contracts.

Additional Duties:

Assisting the kennel team when needed, in the enrichment of our pet population in accordance with schedules and protocols.

Supporting or substituting for the Adoption Coordinator, in performing intake exams for verification of health and behavior wellness as well as data entry of history in the PetPoint software on dogs as outlined in Admissions Protocol for YGRR and following all procedure through the adoption process as indicated in said protocol.

Other duties as assigned by the adoption coordinator.

Skills and Experience:

1 year previous experience working with dogs required. Please do not count work with your own pets. Must be able to work with all dogs, including those with health concerns/conditions as well as behavior conditions. Dog training and behavioral knowledge a plus.

1 year customer service experience required.

Must have the ability to make decisions on behalf of the organization as to approval of animals into adopted and foster homes.

Must have the ability to make decisions on behalf of the organization to maintain intake standards for animal admissions approval into YGRR.

Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. The ideal person for this job would be a team player, positive, personable, upbeat, and energetic, takes initiative, and uses tact and diplomacy.

Resourceful, roll up the sleeves attitude. The successful candidate must have the initiative to resolve problems and seek answers independently and enthusiastically demonstrate flexibility to persist until goals are achieved.

Knowledgeable of breeds, care giving, behaviors and characteristics of animals.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

PART-TIME KENNEL STAFF

Kennel Attendant/Dog Care Staff

Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue has an opening for a part-time kennel worker to join our kennel team. Our Kennel workers are responsible for ensuring the health, comfort and safety of all of our rescue dogs. We are seeking a compassionate person who enjoys working with both people and animals alike. *This position requires flexible day time and evening hours including weekends and holidays.

Duties:
Cleaning kennels
Housekeeping duties – kitchen, dish washing, trash, recyclables, disposing of animal waste, laundry, sweeping, vacuuming, and yard clean up.
Taking care of dogs – feeding, exercising, and provide enrichment
Transporting dogs locally.
Assist fellow employees and other departments as needed.
Follow safety and sanitation protocol.
Uphold YGRR policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience:
Positive reinforcement training experience preferred.
Be willing to work hard and get dirty – this job is physically demanding.
Have a basic understanding of dog language, handling, health, etc.
Be able to dispense medications and treatments to dogs with health issues.

YGRR seeks a candidate for Treasurer

YGRR is a vibrant organization with a small dedicated staff of professionals supported by a cadre of committed volunteers.   We are seeking a treasurer to assist our mission of rescuing and placing Goldens and Goldens at Heart. The role of the treasurer at YGRR is unique, rewarding and includes membership on the Board of Directors.  knowledge of accounting procedures is preferred but not required.  Necessary training on the structure of YGRR’s financial operations and related tasks will be provided, along with ongoing support and mentoring, as needed.  A love of dogs is required!  If interested in learning more, please contact Sandy Lok at [email protected]
