Maya is all smiles with her new adopter at Riverview! The third home is the charm for this ten-year-old Golden girl. Maya lived with her original owner for seven years and was given up because she no longer had time for her. Maya's second owner loved her very much but had to move due to a divorce and could no longer keep her. She called YGRR and asked for help.
Maya was brought to the YGRR veterinarian and given a complete geriatric workup. She had a number of masses removed and, fortunately, all proved to be benign. Maya was started on supplements for arthritis and brought to Riverview. Repeat adopters were called who were waiting for a senior girl and, as this photograph shows, the appointment was a complete success! Maya now lives by the ocean and takes daily walks on the beach. She spends very little time alone and has quickly settled into her new home. It's hard to tell who's happier--Maya or her adopters! |
