Violet, YGRR #4747
Happily Adopted!

It took Violet eight years to finally find her forever family. Violet had at least 3 homes before she was given to a young woman who really didn't have the time or financial means to take care of a dog. She kept Violet for a year and then called YGRR. Violet was brought to the YGRR veterinarian and found to be anaplasmosis positive and overweight. She was treated with antibiotics for the anaplasmosis and came to Riverview to await her new home.

Violet was a very sweet girl who deserved a wonderful home. Repeat adopters were called to meet Violet along with their other YGRR dog, Zachary, #4756. All went beautifully at the adoption appointment and Violet is finally HOME!

Madeline, YGRR #4684
Happily Adopted!

"Maddie" has everything to smile about now that she is healthy and in her new adoptive home! Maddie was found as a stray with an estimated age of eight in the fall of 2009. When no one claimed her, the ACO called YGRR. He warned us that the dog was not in good condition. When Maddie arrived at the YGRR veterinarian, it was found that she was severely hypothyroid. She only had patches of fur on her body and none on her tail. Her skin was dark and felt like leather. Although she looked overweight, Maddie had muscle wasting in different areas of her body. Maddie was immediately put on antibiotics for skin and ear infections and started on treatment for her hypothyroidism with Soloxine.

Maddie stayed at Riverview for 5 months recuperating from her ordeal and getting healthy. The staff loved her perky personality and she quickly became a favorite. A repeat adopter was called who was waiting for a senior Golden and the rest is history. Maddie is now with someone 24/7 who absolutely dotes on her! They are a perfect match and we don't know who is happier--Maddie or her adopter!

Sammy, YGRR #4759, with the Easter Bunny
Happily Adopted!

Sammy is in the Easter spirit and quickly made a pal of the Easter Bunny! Sammy was surrendered at the age of 11 in 2009 because his owner was in the military and was transferred to Florida. When Sammy was brought to the YGRR veterinarian, he was thin and frail with lots of lumps and bumps. After an ultrasound of a suspicious mass and subsequent surgery, the mass was found to be benign and everyone at Riverview celebrated! A repeat adopter who loves taking home old Goldens was called to meet Sammy. Sammy was thrilled to jump in her car and go to his new home. He has put on weight, is stronger and looks just great!

Happy Easter from Sammy and all the rescue Goldens awaiting their new homes!
