Operating Fund
 

 

This fund supports the day-to-day care of Rescue Goldens in our program. It pays for the comprehensive medical care we provide for each Rescue Golden (veterinary examinations, spaying or neutering, vaccinations, heartworm test and treatment if necessary, blood tests, dental work, diagnostic tests as indicated, biopsies when necessary, geriatric blood profiles for dogs 8 years old and older, medications, etc.), boarding costs at YGRR's shelter and the salaries of YGRR's small kennel staff and intake/adoption coordinators. A total of 89% of all YGRR operational costs are for direct dog care.

To give you a sense of our expenses, here are a few examples:

$500 - Standard Admissions Medical Care for an incoming Rescue Golden (Includes vaccinations, heartworm test, worming, blood tests, routine dental work, urinalysis, fecal exam, flea, tick and heartworm preventatives, tattoo and tattoo registration with National Dog Registry.)

$300-$450 - Cardiac or abdominal diagnostic ultrasound

$150 - Consultation with a veterinary specialist

$300 - Spaying a female Rescue Golden

$110 - Supplemental geriatric blood profile for senior Rescue Goldens (age eight and older)

$100 - Fuel for the Goldenmobile (Rescue van) for one week's transportation of dogs to and from veterinarians

$225 - Neutering a male Rescue Golden

$154 - Cost of one week's board for one Rescue Golden at Riverview while awaiting adoption

$3,000 – TPLO (Knee surgery)

$1,200 – ACL (Knee repair)

$1,200 – FHO (Hip surgery)

It is impossible to predict what Goldens we will have in our program at the time that you make your donation, but we can promise that the gift you make will enable us to give a Rescue Golden the very best care possible. Thank you.
